Roses in the rain

We are having a very wet spring/early summer here in France, just as well that we have got our heads down in indoor projects.  Still, the garden is trying hard to pretend that it is summer and the roses are pushing forth nicely.  The badgers have not been back since we spread hot chillies across the patch of lawn that they were digging up.  I hope we didn't burn their wee noses too badly or give them a taste for hot takeaways.  If you see a couple of brocks ordering vindaloo from the local curry house, they are probably our badgers, gone off in search of their spicy side!!
