Reasons to smile...

Vasa

This evening I went to an event at the Vasa Museum which has the large Vasa Ship inside it. It sank in 1628 less than 20 minutes after it set off for the first time and was recovered over 300 years later and here it is now. Obviously some work done on it. It seems odd to have a museum for a ship which sounds like it was a bit of a failure. A colleague got told off for referring to it as a boat -the tour guide was very clear it is a ship not a boat.

The guide also pointed to part of the ship said "the most important things on the ship were stored here, what do you think those were?" and the answer apparently wasn't "life jackets".
