BEDDING
Back home, and the Nuthatches have fledged. This is the contents of the nest box, all tree bark.
The Blue Tit nest was a sorry sight as there were 5 unhatched eggs left. Some young must have, or hopefully did fledge, as the parents were busily bringing food in before we went away. I can only think that the attentions of the Great Spotted Woodpecker who kept chipping away at the nest box entrance stopped the parents from brooding the other eggs. A metal guard has now been fixed to the nest box entrance to prevent any further damage.
