Snatched

I saw this cardinal hanging around the peanuts on the wall.  Suddenly, he snatched one which was slightly cracked open and took off.  I had been poised to take a shot.  He surprised me, though, with his quick move. I barely caught him in the frame.

It wasn't really raining. I added that just for the heck of it.  I thought it might make me feel cooler.  At 7:00 it was sunny and already 90°/32°.  It's going to be totally brutal today.

Edit: I added an extra photo...a shot of our local newspaper headline. We were actually a degree above that forecast.
