The Mermaid Statue, Porthcawl, Vale of Glamorgan.

My wife an I went for a walk along the sea front at Porthcawl and we came across this three ton,  2 mtr tall statue. It is named "Mother Sea" and is made of Portland Stone.  The sculptor is Peter W. Nicholas and the mermaid figure is forming a circle to represent the cycle of life and its evolution from sea to dry land.
