The smallest carrots: for Joep

Father's day was forgotten in all the holiday excitement, but after we remembered it all went very well.

At the plot by 8.20, where carrots, parsnips etc were successfully thinned and weeded before I had a visit.   Happy Father's Day Joep - these carrot thinnings are my only offering for today.  We did eat them and they were delicious.

As for me - beers and burgers in the Espy in Portobello made everything good.  Preceded by a walk on the beach, which had a great father's day buzz - a lot of not-quite-coping grandparents and a volleyball tournament. Of course.  Succeeded by getting garden inspiration in Inveresk.  I am inspired to eat cake in the garden.  I am also inspired to re-train as a lawyer and retire to an enclave of privilege on the outskirts of Musselburgh, which comes with a fabulous garden.  Not much really practical that we can apply here though.

The extra will confirm I wasn't the only one spoiled.  She's going to get a land at the nursery tomorrow after two weeks of swimming, chips, lollipops and cheeky backchat.
