THE TIDES OF ROMANCE

A day out to Sunderland Point below Lancaster today. The tide was right for crossing the tidal road to the Point, and getting back off again. It's worth checking the location map to see what I mean!

With the tide out it meant that the boats were slumbering at a tilt in the mud and there was lots of peeling paint and fraying ropes to photograph.

On another tidal theme, my sister S phoned this morning from the south coast where she is sailing. We were going to meet up next weekend but when they were checking the tide tables this morning they realised it was A's birthday and their 40th wedding anniversary, so they are staying at sea to celebrate. Well that's different; and how romantic, I said, checking the tide tables for your wedding anniversary! I hope they have a lovely time, they deserve it.
