Father's Day.

He was born in 1911 and was a radio officer in the Merchant Navy. This must have been taken before the war as he left the navy and became a chiropodist. He went back to sea for the duration of the war and returned unscathed in spite of being on an oil tanker. The whole ship's crew got a commendation for bravery after fighting off enemy planes. He never spoke of this and I only found out after he'd died.
