Spot the ball
Busy day... Morning up at the school to start the 'journée citoyenne' - where everyone comes and helps with odd jobs. My odd job was to copy and send off the court papers for a procedure against a non-payer. Unfortunately the Head's odd jobs had not included preparing the two things I had asked for, so that will wait until Monday.
Off then to drop CarbBoy at the last tournament of the season - in Lavaur - and then stop into the market for a quick (always quiet when it's raining) dash around. Back up to school with my sewing machine to hem some curtains, then home to collect Mr B and lunch and off to the tournament.
CarbBoy's team did really well - won all but one match, and drew the last against a very cynical fouling team. Sadly, they lost the tournament on point difference, but I felt they won the moral battle (that was little consolation). When they play a team that are clearly not very good, they drop back to the half-way line for each restart - otherwise it is just too easy to get the ball and score again straight away which I'm sure is massively discouraging for the other team. But, of course, that counts against you when all the points are added up.
Regardless, it was a fun, sociable day. Home then for pizzas and a very early night for me.
