Common Whitetail Dragonfly

There must have been a large hatching of dragonflies in the past few days because there are swarms of them around my neighborhood.  There is an irrigation canal that runs behind the houses so that must be where they came from.  They all appear to be the same kind and they look like tiny helicopters flying around the yard.  This one allowed me to get close to her and take several shots before flying away.  The males have a white body and their wing pattern is a little different.  This is my first dragonfly of the summer.  I hope there will be many more!  :-)
