Marjorie's ramblings

A welcome surprise visitor

At the committee this morning, we went through all the walks for the Autumn Festival. I do not think we have ever had so many routes with problems. It's all due to the floods last year. The West Allen Valley is particularly badly affected and there is no prospect that many of the footpaths will be reinstated.

Thinking caps on.

Back at home, we had just finished lunch when the doorbell rang. I went downstairs to see that our unexpected visitor was K. She used to work at the surgery and has recently left quietly. We have known her for years and she and Mum had a good friendship. She came to see how Mum is getting on.

I told Mum she had a visitor and would not tell her who it was. This made for a delightful suprise as she descended on her stair lift to her lounge.

So here they are at the front door as K is leaving.

Our day has been significantly brightened.
