Mimulus luteus ...

... Monkey flower. Was going to call this "Friend or Foe" because the mimulus had taken over. They've been in the mini wildflower meadow for a few years and were struggling and weedy but all of a sudden they are everywhere. They make a mat of roots on the surface (being aquatic plants) which smothers the soil preventing other plants from growing. I've pulled lots of them up!! But thy will be allowed to grow in the narrow garden.
A full day of planting out and potting on. Forecast is rain so getting as many pots emptied as possible. Weather very warm and sunny, lots of cups of tea outdoors.
