Grey Heron

The herons usually keep to the island in the middle of the loch in the Heritage Park but today I struck lucky when I saw one just standing in among the vegetation at the edge of the loch.  As I tried to get a good view for a photo the heron took flight, not to the island though just a bit further down the loch.  I just got back to the car before the heavens opened and we had a sudden downpour .... the kind that soaks you in seconds and stops a minute later.

Worked in the garden this afternoon trying to tidy things up before going through to Elie next week.  I struggled, unsuccessfully, to dig out an old laurel bush.  I managed to get some of the roots but the rest will have do be dug out by someone much fitter and stronger than me.
