The Bells of Old Peritheia

Thanks to a blip by RosInAus 2 days ago I was alerted to the fascinating deserted village of Old Peritheia in northern Corfu, a pleasant drive from where we are staying in Nissaki.

Today the sun shone and the temperature was perfect - we suddenly noticed a few cicadas had started their rasping noise unlike the cacophony we used to hear on our July visits!

We enjoyed a cool drink and a very generous helping of walnut cake in one of the old buildings now a taverna.
As an extra I have included an enlarged view of the scene captured by Ros - her close up was much better but I didn't want be accused of plagiarism!

Still loving our return to this lovely island.
