color me fearless...
...or calm
or happy
i have discovered the fine art - of adult coloring! - don't smirk - it's not attractive, plus until you give it a try - you have no earthly idea just how therapeutic - coloring can really be for your mind and soul - i admit, at 1st i hesitated - but then i remembered how much i enjoyed coloring - as a child - i used to have my favorite books and crayons - sometimes i couldn't wait to pull them out - and sit at the kitchen table to fill in - the 'story' line while my mama was making dinner - together we would then chat about the day - so i figured i would bring back some of - those memories and some of that calm - and i was surprised at what i found was all on - the market for purchase to us as adults
this symbol comes out of a book - titled 'fearless' (see extras) - it is but one in a whole series including others - as well such as color me happy - color me calm, etc - they are great books devoted to the cause - but 'fearless' struck me because of the whole issue - of anxiety i struggle with - this symbol falls under the chapter of courage - and speaks to how when thinking of fear - we think of being able to counter it with courage - the author says:
'nor does having courage mean that there is an absence of fear; rather, it means being brave enough to act on and move forward despite any trepidation that may be involved with a particular circumstance. possessing and using courage allows you to push through or past the fear in order to do what needs to be done, whether in a crisis situation that requires an immediate response or with something that carries a risk to accomplish it.'
whether or not this resonates with you - it did/does with me and has provided - countless hours of calming time with colored pencils - in hand as i determine how best to color - in the lines of the various books - i now own in my adult life - who would've thought this would be a new hobby - i would add to my list which make for...
a
happy day.....
