Spike

This is the final resting place of Spike Milligan; St. Thomas' Churchyard, Winchelsea, East Sussex. There was some controversy about the inscription on the stone which read, "I told you I was ill." Classic Spike, but the church wasn't keen, and neither was the family. An excellent compromise was reached, and the quote remains on the stone, but in Gaelic.
It's a lovely spot in a country churchyard, under an Ash tree, just near the New Inn.
I've just noticed the banana skin on the right. I'm sure the great man would approve
