Pimple Rock

This considerable chunk of limestone which is probably about 12 feet high stands in the middle of the River Yealm at Kitley. Normally the water swirls around the base but in times of flood the level is considerably higher and has been known to completely cover it. The reason for the name  - Pimple Rock - is lost in the mists of time.
