Broken Floorboards
The day started off with my father drawing some blood for a diabetes test. He had grown concerned with my rambling and mumbling that I suspect I have diabetes. It appears that I don't; a reading of 5.5, he says, is perfectly normal. I now suspect I am anaemic since not much blood came out during the drawing. I also have a feeling I'm hypochondriac.
Lunch with Magdalen was good, catching up on what she's up to over some Kenny Rogers and a movie. She insisted I come back to Ipoh to watch Now You See Me 2 since the prequel was our last movie outing together. Glad that, the school break, my need for a break, Father's Day and my car needing a servicing all aligned like some syzygy. Ended that part of the day by staring into the inner workings of an escalator.
Took the mother out to some Japanese food for dinner and shoe shopping. It was cute watching her trot from one store to another, all stores that didn't sell shoes. Appears, she had changed her mind, she wanted me to get her a purse that was on sale in this store with broken floorboards; not one board properly attached to another. Pleased with her purchase she then wanted umbrellas. And cereal/muesli. All the while thinking of the savings made on the purse purchase. I couldn't help noting that even though it wasn't her who made the savings on the discount, it was the very fact that there was a good discount that gave her the pleasure in buying things. I wonder if I'm going to inherit this.
The day ended with a hot cup of coffee that probably had a kilo of sugar in it. This is the "less sugar" order. I imagine the regular will have 5 kilos of sugar. How can I not have diabetes! Oh, I don't (smile).
