Beep, buzz, ouch

That's the cycle for today. Beep, buzz, ouch.

This was taken inside Queen Margaret's Hospital in Dunfermline this morning, just after I'd had my 24hr blood pressure and heart monitors fitted. Fairly routine apparently, but still a little freaky. So every half blimmin hour, I hear two beeps of doom, then the machine that is rather uncomfortably tied around my waist and coiled around my arm starts to buzz very loudly, and then

Aaaaaaaaaaaargh.

... it literally did it right in the middle of me writing that sentence.

And then it cuts my arm off, or at least it feels like it does for about 30 seconds whilst it takes my blood pressure. Seriously , when I look at my hand I could swear it's starting to inflate. Apparently during the night it'll put that down to just once every hour . :-( so no sleep for me tonight then . Not to mention the sticky pads that hold the electrodes to my chest for the heart monitor. Whenever I move very slightly in the wrong way it tweaks the hairs on my chest in what can only be described as an exquisitely excruciating manner.

Some people may be a fan of that kind of thing, I however am not.

I was just a little bit away from somebody else having a coffee in hospital cafe when the buzz machine went off . I had to assure her it wasn't a very large bee.
