Drama in Karama!
So... yesterday morning, my alarm went off at its usual time, and I put it to snooze... two minutes later, I heard/felt this almighty bang and something fall to the floor in the upstairs flat. I jumped out of bed to see what happened, but everything looked ok in the flat and in the garden and the other buildings.
A few minutes later, we heard the sirens of various emergency vehicles - loud, so they must have been close to us. Anyway, we set off to work as normal, and I checked the local newspapers' website to see if there was any news, but nothing.
Then today, while at Costa to get a coffee, I saw this in the local new sheet. The story of a gas explosion in Karama! It happened two roads from us - fortunately in the direction away from our flat - but right into the local garage! Thankfully, no loss of life or anyone even badly injured. The shops adjacent to this restaurant have some renovating to do though; and the landlord to the three levels of flats on top!
The temperature is rising fast here. Into the mid 40s now and last night - after midnight, it hadn't dropped below 35. That's hot! Glad my a/c got repaired just in time.
Ventured out close to sunset, to visit our Pastor who has just had major surgery, get Gs car washed, and visit a bookstore for her to get some end of year school presents! All done and now I must blip and do some work work to get ahead for tomorrow.
