Exciting!

The small 2 were delighted to find post addressed to them when they got in, especially as the postmark had a message for Tim Peake! Smallest worked out that it must be from Grandma as the postmark also said Yorkshire. No flies on him.

Princess wins the award for bravest in the Roly household today. She has had a rotten baby tooth for a long time now. It has caused an abscess in the past and generally 'niggles'. After her newest filling fell out last week, the emergency dentist decided enough is enough and today was removal day.

We were seen bang on time and the dentist calmly explained he would put her tooth to sleep then wiggle it out. He then showed her the gel on the cotton wool and told her this was to numb her tooth. After letting it go numb, he explained he was going to put more on her tooth - no mention of needles - and with slight of hand between him and the nurse, he proceeded to inject the proper anaesthetic.

Princess remained oblivious, he went slowly and when he noticed her shaking, stopped, hid the needle and sat her up for a chat. After a couple of minutes he continued until all was numb. He then told her she might hear some popping noises and him wiggling her tooth then started the extraction. When he needed to go to the pliers, he explained that they were just to help him hold her tooth as his fingers were too big and slippy.

All done and dusted in 20minutes! A very content little girl who thinks the dentist did nothing more than wipe gel on her gum and waggle her tooth! I am so proud of her and delighted with the dentist - it could have been very different but his skill, calm manner and patience made it a painless experience for Princess.
