It only occurred to me on the way home that the stability issues of the post the tap is attached to could be fixed with the bag of postcrete in the shed. Perhaps the stability issues encountered by attempting to attach a slippery polythene bag filled with twenty kilos of rhubarb to my pannier (taking out three bungee cord hooks in the process) set my mind to considering such things.
