John Key, Prime Minister of NZ, officially opened this magnificent aquatic centre on Friday afternoon. This weekend it has been open to the public. It is something to be very proud of; an estimated 1000 people can use this facility at one time. It has a very extensive gym upstairs (where this picie is taken through the glass windows) a health & beauty spa, food consultants, lovely indoor/outdoor cafe, diving pool, 10 lane 25metre pool, learners pool, spa, sauna, steam room. An extensive children area which part of this is shown here. Not shown here is a river flow thingi which swishes the water around for some extra excitment for swimmers. Then, there are two big hydro slides and seating at the far end.

An amazing complex that has taken 5 years to get off the ground and build. It is adjacent to Caroline Bay, accommodation and cafes/restaurants.

Have I enticed you folk to come visit, hope so.....there is such a lot going for Timaru :)

We went for a lovely walk across the bay and around the wharf after.

Have just had a meeting on site with our builder to go over a few things - its looking like a house now, maybe a update blip next weekend??
