EU Referendum...and a Bee Orchid!

An historic day...the decision on whether we remain in the EU or not.  My four friends and I were having  some lively discussions on the subject on our walk today.  Two of our group wished to remain, and two to leave...happily we didn’t fall out over our differing views, after all that’s what friendship is about...enjoying each other’s differences as well as our similarities.

On a completely different subject we noticed that Norfolk Council had finally got around to cutting the grass verges where we live.  They had got very long, but were full of lovely buttercups and daisies.  However, there were a few flowers that had obviously been mowed around but left standing and closer inspection revealed that they are bee orchids, this is the first time I’d ever seen one.  So hats off to the council for leaving the verges long enough for these beautiful flowers to grow and then having the sensitivity to mow around them and leave them to be enjoyed. See the extra taken with my compact camera.
