Mama bullfinch

Not a great picture but a lovely bird and she seems very fond of her other half - they often come to the feeder together. I'm hoping they bring the kids along some time soon.

A busy day. Did some admin then walked the dogs over the common where we bumped into Selina and Indy so we walked round with them. Then I did some errands in the village before going to work for the afternoon.

This evening it was our annual staff (GP) practice walk, the first one organised by our new senior partner who is very fit whereas not everyone is. Hence we spent longer than planned walking an 8 mile round trip from Tillington. It helped that one of the team, Polly, met us halfway with a boot full of drinks, both soft and alcoholic, and this spurred us on for the rest of the walk. However, we had a call from the pub saying that they would stop serving food at 9 pm and we didn't actually get back there until 30 minutes after this. Given that we had booked in advance from a set menu we were in a good position to argue although Plan B was fish and chips.

However, it seems it was an idle threat as we got our meals and spent a jolly hour and a half sitting in a lovely country pub, eating, drinking and watching the lightening display outside before driving home through a monsoon.
