Crunch point
Saw the Jo Cox memorial in Cambridge's Market Square today as I strolled about at lunchtime hoping to lend my Head to any leafletters.
I absolutely unequivocally want to remain in the EU and have always assumed the public would vote that way until some nervous recent days.
Ate dinner out with the Mulligans - the referendum dominated our chat - and we enjoyed the social experiment of witnessing reactions to the Head. Hoping that the city centre power cut and torrential rain aren't doomsday omens of the kind of country to come.
Being fixated on the issue of immigration people cannot see that immigrants contribute to the economy, invest in services, generate employment for others, create the need for more services, and so on. This is not to mention the cultural and social benefits we should look for from people from different countries. All the logic points to remaining open and tolerant.
