Flooded

What a night of torrential rain. Woke up to the river bursting its banks.
Thought we'd have a bit of fun in the garden on the kayaks while the water was rising. Not everyday you get to paddle in your garden.
I then put my wetsuit on and swam a few lengths of the garden. Parts of it were like an endless pool with the water rushing so fast.
Unfortunately despite the house being built off the ground it has flooded inside.
It's over the skirting boards. We have put as much as we can up. Hopefully we have saved a fair bit.
Won't sleep tonight as a mouse has managed to get into the bedroom. I've got so much stuff from downstairs up here that it's managing to hide. I really don't care for mice.
I wonder what tomorrow will bring...sunshine I hope.
