Fern Babies
Blipmate and I took a picnic lunch to the Eves Valley Scenic Reserve today, to look for fungi. We were hoping for something just a little bit different - or a bit special but although there were copious amounts of fungi, they were all types we had seen and photographed before. It was lovely in the bush though but a bit boggy underfoot after all the rain.
Every so often we would see a shaft of light illuminating a curtain of hanging mosses, or spotlighting some lichen. There were delicate moss gardens and clusters of ferns and in the background a chorus of bird song.
My favourite of the day is this fern with the new little ferns growing on the tips of each frond and lit by a ray from the sun .
