This is the End

This is the end, my beautiful friend...the end.  The dark, morbid tones of this sunflower reminded me of the old Doors song, but the flower's end is much less final than the ends described in Jim Morrison's lyrics.  As the last of its tiny compound flowers fade, whorls of furry purple seeds develop behind, the flower's literal reincarnation and new beginning.
