Youngster

This Steller's Jay is a youngster. You can tell by the red at the edges of his mouth and the fluffy grey feathers on most of his body. He was acting like all the other fledgelings around here, standing on the deck railing and flapping his wings in that "Mom, come feed me" way that all the little guys do. It was very charming. Mom was having none of it and he finally had to fend for himself.

Spent much of the day working on my calendar photos. And I had acupuncture in the afternoon. As usual, I slept through most of it. It does seem to be helping.

Arvin and I had a quiet evening home alone together.
