Cardiff Bay 10KM walk

My wife and I decided to try the Cardiff Bay 10 KM walk.  It was a very interesting expedition and when the little anomalies are ironed out, it will be considerably better.  On our journey, we came across this very large silver ball with the full size figure of a man looking into it.  Apparently, it is called the "mirrorball" There is a hole in the back of the mans head allowing you to look through him into the ball. All I could see was darkness, so I am not too sure what I was supposed to see, perhaps another blipper might know the answer to this question. I have attached a couple of extra photographs  to give a better perspective of this unusual piece of public art.
