Solstice
I decided that Tara, ancient Seat of the High Kings of Ireland, would be a good place to celebrate the Summer Solstice.
After a visit to a twisted, knurled Fairy Tree where we both left a sentimental offering in memory of others Fluffikens and I headed to Lia Fail and then on to the Long Hall where a Drum Ceremony was in full swing. We passed Pagans at prayer along the way paying homage to the Sun. It was a lasting experience to watch alien beliefs in a positive setting. Fuinneamh, the fourteen foot communal drum was played with gusto and a sense of peace prevailed.
We watched the piper salute the going down of the sun and remembered......
"We're coming back next year!!!" said Fluffikens.... Obviously she read my mind....just saying
