Civic Sunday

Following on from yesterday's Gala Day, today was Civic Sunday, the first one ever I believe and I was honoured to be invited (actually got two invitations, one for me and the hubby and one to take representatives from the Scout Group!) Meeting at the Village Hall, Councillors, visiting dignitaries, the Town Crier, Brownies and Gala Queens we were fortunate that the rain abated whilst we walked down through to the Church with the City of Preston Pipes and Drums at the fore. A lovely service was held, opened with Amazing Grace from two of the pipers. It was a wonderful occasion and I hope the start of an annual tradition.
