Ocean Beach, Raglan

This morning we met up with a local friend living here in Raglan and heard about all the wonderful activities available. I'd caught up with K. when I visited Raglan back in January, and here she is, on her first kayak ever, right over to the other side of the harbour from the township. 

There is a massive dune restoration programme in place along the beach in this image, at Whaingaroa (Raglan) Harbour. There are notices in place alerting visitors to what is happening and asking that people respect the work that is being done. We'd had nothing but rain this morning, and it was really chilly and unpleasant, but it cleared for a while this afternoon and we enjoyed our walk along the beach. Those toi tois growing up on the hill were shining in the light.
