Peacock Butterfly
We cycled 8 kms to Chateau La Hulpe this morning. Normally on Sundays they have 'Les Dimanches au Chateau' which is basically a garden party on the lawn of the chateau with sofa's, deckchairs & sunloungers and bars serving cocktails & wine, together with activities for the kids.
Before leaving I checked the website which confirmed that it was on today (it gets cancelled subject to the weather). So off we went on our bikes, only to find when we got there, that it had in fact been cancelled! I guess they'd looked at the weather forecast and as rain was supposedly due this afternoon, they decided not to bother.
So we had a bit of lunch at the local Taverne and then walked around the lake before cycling the 8kms home - uphill nearly all the way!
Fortunately this beautiful butterfly landed just as we were passing and stayed long enough for me to get a few shots. I googled the image to find out it's name. See it Large
Well, it's now 4.30 pm and still no rain, so I guess the organisers will be thinking they made the wrong decision to cancel the event - such a shame but we've had a nice day anyway.
Hope you're all having a good Sunday!
