Showy ladyslippers

I don't usually blip flowers but this was too special not to share. A few days ago a friend told us that there is a bog about 25 miles from us called Eshqua Bog,  managed by the Nature Conservancy, that is the home to these amazing wild orchids. They are unique to New England and very rare to grow in such abundance. Today there was a greeter who happened to be a British expat. We had a lively and depressing discussion with her about the referendum.
