Ebony Jewelwing Says This Is MY Water Droplet. . .
. . . You no can has!
It was cool in the morning and I got out early to do some weeding around the butterfly garden. Just to keep things neat and tidy, you know.
One of the delights of high summer is the fancy bugs. And what did I spot flitting about the meadow on this morning but a pretty blue bug.
An ebony jewelwing damselfly, to be specific; and a male at that. The male has plain black wings, while the female has black wings with a single white dot.
I snapped a number of pictures as it flew about. In this particular shot, it seemed to be guarding a tiny water droplet on jewelweed. Ah-ha! How funny! Jewelwing on jewelweed! *claps hands happily*
