One of the hundreds of teams at this year's Highland Cross charity event. A 20 mile walk or run, followed by a 30 mile cycle. Crossing the Scottish Highlands from Morvich in the West, to Beauly in the East. All the monies raised go to local charities, and it's the event's 31st year. A good few of the participants have done the event numerous times. I've only done it four times - first one as a walker, and the others as a runner.
This must be at least the sixth time I've taken photos, and given encouragement (and cheek...) here. A colossal number of photos taken, in an effort to catch at least one shot of the 720+ folk doing it, along with some shots of the support teams, and the scenery. Always difficult trying to choose just one for a Blip, or these days, one main one, with some extras... if they successfully upload!
Lots of fun and banter, and great weather... unlike the forecast. The above is at the 15 mile stage of the walk/run, and there's a big food and drinks stop just behind me, which is probably why most folk are smiling!
This year I've uploaded a mere (ahem) 871 photos. As ever, missed a few of the folk, especially when big groups of them come hurtling by. If you know anyone taking part, their proof of participation is likely amongst all this lot somewhere!
(Couple of extras too.)
