Gatekeepers galore

Doing a bit of catching up at home today but had an hour in the cemetery to see what was about. Last year was definitely the year of the gatekeeper in butterfly terms and since the weather improved, it's looking that way again. I've seen hundreds of them over the last few days and there was little else in the cemetery barring the odd large white and a few ringlets. I saw plenty of peacocks and quite a few small tortoiseshells and red admirals earlier in the year, but they are conspicuous by their absence at the moment. Only commas of the larger more colourful butterflies seem to be thriving. Still, summer's not over yet!
