Traditional Kermesse dance

Kermesse (ie end of school fete) traditionally involves all the classes showcasing a dance, but in this school you have to pay if you want your child to dance, because they have hired a dance teacher for the choreography. And, only the youngest children (maternelles) can actually take part in the dances. I suppose that if the 450 pupils all took part, it would go on until midnight!

Still, we gave R. the chance to spin her dress, but it was pretty much the same as all the Kermesse dances I have ever seen, with the added bonus of a very pretty dance teacher shouting out orders "En bas ! En haut ! Les épaules ! On tourne ! Tape, Tape !".

C&G performed with their choir, singing "La Cigale Et La Fourmi".
