Gently down the stream

Another kind

..of damselfly, blipped on my rather long walk back from Shawford, through water meadows that run beside the Itchen Navigation.  The last one I shot was a female banded demoiselle (as I was told by a more knowledgeable blipper).  I have no idea what this one is called, but there are thousands down there.  I also wasted much time happily trying to capture a burnet moth in flight.  The little, um, annoying thing wouldn't land for a second so I failed!

Okay, so gen2 tells me it's the MALE banded demoiselle, which makes sense, so now I have a pair of them ;)

Hope Monday's treated you more kindly than our national politicians, who right now - and perhaps deservedly - seem to have a collective case of insanity.  (Sorry, Scotland, not including you!)

Pip pip  xx
