I couldn't resist...

The subjects are the same as yesterday's shot, but now we see a trio of gaping bird beaks.These nestlings are huge and must be toasty in the white hot heat of mid afternoon. The trio must be on the verge of fledging at any moment, they sure look ready. Dad is busy chasing mum to mate, so they will be on their own soon I suspect. Mum was feeding them bits of suet and then some dried meal worms that I put out for her. The young squirrels love the dried meal worms as well, so she had to work quickly.

For the Record,
This day came in warm and sunny, a beautiful stretch of weather, but so dry, the lawn looks as brown as late August. Rain midweek I hope.
