All brailed up

Down to the boat this afternoon to make sure all is well and do a couple of little jobs.
This "spritty" came up river in full sail but to turn the corner she needed her engine so took in the sails.
It is odd to see a Thames barge with so much freeboard. When I was a youngster in the 60's you could occasionally see a barge still in commerce and she would be laden to about 18" freeboard with the hatch covers well gasketed because a swell would roll in over the side decks.
