Pontoon
We fail to find anywhere to sell us scallops in Tarbert, so keep going to the Gigha ferry. While waiting for the 2 o'clock we re-create Tesco goat cheese & red onion chutney flatbreads using Co-op ingredients.
On Gigha we find the posse down at the Boathouse listening to dodgy covers and roasting in the hot sun and cooling breeze. There will be pain tomorrow.
We're staying at the Byre, just past Achamore House, and it's very comfortable. Not at all like camping. We cook loads of food, eat it all, and then head to the village hall for tonight's entertainment - Siobhan Miller Band and Shooglenifty. Siobhan's a good, classic, Scottish folk singer, but Shooglenifty get the hall dancing with a vengeance. Hot and tired they keep us on our feet till one or later.
I return to our accommodation accompanied by my old friend Quee. Not much later we're joined by Siobhan, her band and a good chunk of the Shoogles. There's beer and wine and rum. We only go to bed once it's all finished, the sun has risen and Megan has returned from an all nighter at Catriona's.
