"Winsome looking" , he said ," post that one."

I did have one  with his beak open when he was chirping, which showed just how large the beak in this grosbeak is. But my hubs liked this one. It is a rather winsome look isn't it? The lady grosbeak was in the tree above him being rather shy and retiring.She didn't come down to the platform feeder , but he took an occasional morsel up to her ( how cute is that). I have been trying to get a picture of this bird for weeks but previously if I came anywhere near close enough for a shot he took off. For some reason tonight he was not at all spooked and stayed for 30 or so shots. And the day ended with a rainbow! ( and it rained! which is great because the ground was either rock hard or dust!)
