Grand Day Out
Backblip 2
Met up with daughter and son-in-law (J & M) for a lovely day, full of great experiences.
We went first to Cardigan Castle where they were holding a medieval fair (free entry!!) Lots to enjoy, including several craft workers using ancient skills, a mini theatre for children (main blip) and an exciting duel among knights, which looked a bit too realistic at times:-)
In the afternoon, we had a drive along the beautiful coast road to Aberystwyth, stopping at various towns along the way for lunch and sightseeing. We loved the pretty little port of New Quay (see extras) and even managed to see dolphins leaping in Cardigan Bay, although only with the help of binoculars! The rain arrived with a vengeance, so we didn't stay long.
In Aberystwyth, we admired the sweeping bay and pretty houses and hotels, although the pier looked to have seen better days. The University buildings were absolutely beautiful and I loved the towers and decorations.
The fish and chips on the promenade were pretty good too:-) See extras for some more views.
