The Whitby Whale Bones.

These aren't the first bones to grace the West Clif in Whitby to commemorate the ports heritage. The first pair were erected in the 1960's but the salty air wore them away.

This set were put up in 2002 after a worldwide appeal and came from Alaska. They are the jaw bones from a bowhead whale which was killed legally by native Inuit in 1996.
