Cawdor Castle from the "Yellow Garden"
Christine and I had a wonderful Sabbath. I was able to play the piano for services today at church, as well as attend her Sunday School class. We came home to a wonderful meal of homemade sweet potato and carrot soup, then decided to visit Cawdor Castle and grounds. When I was here last time we visited Mey Castle in Thurso where we were taken on a guided tour of the castle. We decided we weren't going to do that again. We were delighted today when we were able to go on a self-guided tour, which we did!
The gardens were food for the soul--formal Scottish gardens with a maze within the walled garden, beautiful beds of blooming perennials, a formal garden with a star and other shapes, a wild garden with trails, and another garden which included this corner that was full of yellow blooms. My heart was happy with the smells, the sights, the rain, the company, and this holiday! Thank you, Christine!!!
