Silver Strand
After a hearty breakfast we took the early ferry back to the mainland, there was quite a swell which made for a lively crossing! We were both rather sad to see Inisturk growing smaller on the horizon, it's a very special place indeed.
We made a quick visit to Loisburgh for supplies and with a few hours to spare until the ferry to Clare Island, we headed out along the coast to a favourite place of mine, Silver Strand. Here mountains meet the white sand beach, the sea is many shades of blue and it feels like taking a step back in time, looking at the small farms along the way.
I visited Clare Island last year and had a wonderful few days. The sun was shing so with such a mixed weather forecast we thought we would make the most of it and took a long hike through a landscape which feels so different to the neighbouring island we left this morning and which we can see so clearly from here.
