Intravenous Victory

After days and nights of passing everything I consume, I decide to get to the bottom of this. I march myself to the hospital emergency room and announce to the doctor "I've got Cholera!" I know I don't, the symptoms don't add up but I'd like to see her reaction. She takes it seriously! And asks a list of questions and answers mine, too.

Blood is drawn, saline administered and medication to stop the infection, fever and stomach cramps intravenously introduced into my system. My first drips. My first needle sticking out of my hand. Fear over these insipid things conquered! Perfect opportunity to snuggle up and read my book!
